He is a former principal of Fellows Consultants an independent loss adjusting concern, and also co-founder, shareholder of Moitsanape Consulting (Pty) Ltd. His line of business extends over a period of 50 years practical experience in the Insurance industry and Loss Adjusting Business. Cobus has vastly gained exposure as a director in major broking houses, of which 18 years were spent with PFV/Chemoil /Alexander Forbes, where he was responsible for servicing and looking after the risk management and short term insurance portfolios of various corporate clients, of which included Sasol.

Cobus previously served as the President of The Insurance Institute of Northern Gauteng.  His training and technical capabilities were also utilised as a trainer and facilitator by most of his previous employers as well as IING and IISA, and is still utilised by ILASA, ITS and INSETA. He previously served as Chairman of The Institute of Loss Adjusters for Northern Gauteng and Regions and served on the National Executive of ILASA.

Since his involvement 20 years ago with loss adjusting, he successfully handled and finalised various large and complex claims on behalf of insurers and brokers.
He is professionally qualified by examination through the “Chartered Insurance Institute of London” as a Fellow (FCII), and a Chartered Insurance Practitioner (CIP), also holds is an Associate-ship of The Institute of Loss Adjusters of SA (AILA) is acknowledge and accepted by SAQA as one of the few professionally qualified Loss adjusters. Also holds various other international academic qualifications. He is currently operating as a multi-facetted professional loss adjuster and training facilitator.
